Career Home Run Record
Hitting a home run is one of the most exciting moments in baseball. When a player makes a career of playing the sport of baseball, there is a special record to aim for: the career home run record!
Babe Ruth
Babe Ruth held the home run record for many years, with a total of 714 home runs hit during his career. Babe Ruth played in the MLB for 20 years, and set many other records in his career as well.
Barry Bonds
Barry Bonds eventually broke Babe Ruth’s record, with a total of 762 home runs. Bonds played in the MLB for an impressive 22 years, and has held the career home run record since 2007.
Active Players
The current active players have yet to approach either of these career home run records.
- Albert Pujols has the highest career home runs of any active player, with 657 home runs.
- Miguel Cabrera is the second-highest active player with 469 home runs hit.
- Carlos Beltran is the third-highest active player with 445 home runs.
Any of these players could potentially break the current career home run record, but it will take a lot of hard work and dedication to do so. With the career home run record standing at 762 home runs, it will be an impressive feat if any active player can manage to break it.
