What is IB Career Related Programme?
The IB Career Related Programme (IB-CP) is an innovative diploma program of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) designed to help students develop the knowledge and skills they need to pursue a successful career. It combines the best of traditional schooling with practical, career-related studies and gives students the opportunity to develop the attributes needed for lifelong learning and success.
Main Components of the IB-CP
The IB-CP requires students to complete the following tasks in order to be successfully awarded the IB-CP diploma:
- The Core: All students must complete the IB-CP core, which is made up of six key subject areas. These include language and literature, individuals and societies, experimental sciences, mathematics, theory of knowledge, and the arts.
- Career-Related Studies: This component provides students with a tailored programme of studies. It includes the two core subjects (as listed above) as well as one or two related studies from academic or vocational fields, the latter being chosen from the student’s chosen career-related pathway.
- Career-Related Programme: This component includes a course of study, practical experiences, and reflection activities that are tailored to the individual student’s chosen career path. This component allows students to gain an insight into their chosen career and explore its educational and professional possibilities.
