My Career Beginnings
Having spent most of my childhood dreaming of becoming a doctor, I never expected that my career would take the course that it did. I can attribute much of my career path to the advice and guidance of a few key people who opened my eyes to possibilities that I wouldn’t have considered without their help. Here’s the story of my career beginnings.
- High School: After graduating high school, I started university as an aspiring medical student. It wasn’t until midway through my studies that I started to gain an understanding of the sciences, especially physics and chemistry.
- Undergraduate & Graduate Degrees: I then completed my undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences and followed that with a Master’s in Bioengineering. Through these degrees, I discovered a deep interest in how human biology and technology intersected in medical applications.
- Post grad: I then went on to complete a post-graduate certificate in Medical Robotics, followed by a Diploma in Medical Robotics.
A Leap of Faith
After all this studying, I still wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it all. Then I met a mentor who encouraged me to take a leap of faith and pursue a career in medical robotics. At first, I was uncertain but eventually, I decided to take the plunge. As soon as I made the decision, I found the right job, and my career began.
The Journey Ahead
From then on, it has been a journey of growth and learning. From being a junior engineer to being a part of the senior management team, I have had the opportunity of wearing multiple hats. I have also had the chance to work with some amazing people, which has made the process even more rewarding.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change one bit of the career advice that I was given or the choices that I made. I’m glad that I followed my heart and chose to pursue my education and career in the direction that I did, as it has led to a fulfilling and successful career.
