Michael Jordan: The Early Beginnings
Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players to ever grace the game of Basketball. With five MVP awards, 14 All-Star selections, six titles, and many other accomplishments on the court, it’s hard to imagine Michael Jordan ever had an early start on his basketball career.
Rising to Fame
Jordan began his career at the University of North Carolina, leading the Tar Heels to an NCAA Championship in 1982. His rise to fame was instant, his popularity and skill set making him a perfect choice to enter the NBA. When the Chicago Bulls drafted him with the third overall pick in 1984, he became an overnight sensation.
Improving as a Player
It didn’t take long for Jordan to prove his worth as a player. He was chosen for the 1985 All-Star team and was even named the 1985 Rookie of the Year. His performance improved each year, with Jordan claiming the title of leading scorer in the league in 1987, 1988 and 1989.
A New Level of Success
In 1991, Jordan took his game to a whole new level, leading the Bulls to win their first title in franchise history. He went on to win three consecutive championships with the Bulls from 1991-1993, along with three consecutive MVP awards. By 1998, the Chicago Bulls had won six championships with Jordan in the leading role.

After retiring in 2003, Jordan influenced the NBA in ways no other player had previously done. He is considered one of the greatest players of all-time and continues to be an inspiration to basketball players everywhere.
