Don Brown is a renowned American Football head coach who has been coaching college football since 1989. He is the current head coach of the University of Michigan Wolverines. In total, he has 35 years experience as a college coach. Here is a timeline of his career:

1989-1995: Colgate

Don Brown started off his coaching career as a defensive line coach at Colgate University in 1989. From there, he was promoted to defensive coordinator for the Raiders in 1993 and stayed in the role for two seasons before leaving for Dartmouth in 1995.

1995-1998: Dartmouth

At Dartmouth, Don Brown was again their defensive coordinator for a four-year stint. During this period, he was instrumental in developing one of the top defenses in the Ivy League.

1998-2001: UMass

From 1998 to 2001, Don Brown was the defensive coordinator at UMass. This is where his career started to take off, as they boasted one of the top defensive units in the nation. In his last season with the Minutemen, they won the Atlantic 10 championship.

2002-2004: Northeastern

Don Brown took the head coaching job at Northeastern at the start of the 2002 season. He coached the Huskies for three successful seasons, where they won 18 games and went to two bowl games.

2005-2009: Maryland

Don Brown moved to the Big Ten in 2005, taking the defensive coordinator position at Maryland. During his four-year stint there, the Terrapins won three bowl games, and their defenses were some of the best in the nation.

2010-2016: Connecticut

Don Brown returned to his alma mater at UConn for the 2010 season. Again, his defenses were among the top in the nation, and the Huskies enjoyed a successful six-year run under his leadership, finishing the 2016 season 10-3.

2017-present: Michigan

In 2017, Don Brown took the head coaching job at Michigan, and the Wolverines have been one of the top defensive teams in the country ever since. He has also led the program to three 10-win seasons and an overall record of 38-15.
